Every new day brings something unexpected, which is why you and your family should always be prepared. Whether you are in a safe neighborhood or not, accidents and threats can occur. According to WKMG Local 6, the wife of defense attorney Cheney Mason, Shirley Mason, called 911 Tuesday night to report numerous harassing phone calls to their home.
Cheney Mason defended Casey Anthony, who was released from jail on Sunday after being acquitted on charges that she murdered her daughter. Mason’s wife told Seminole County deputies that she had to disconnect the phones in their Longwood home in order to sleep. She was told her home phone number and address was posted on Facebook, prompting the obnoxious calls. Deputies reported that Shirley Mason received several calls from people asking if Anthony was at their home.
She said that until Tuesday, the calls were not aggressive. However, as they progressed, the voicemails began to become more threatening, stating that, “She (Casey Anthony), can run, but she can’t hide,” “Your scumbag husband and (defense attorney Jose) Baez better sleep with one eye open,” “How could you do that to a child killer,” and “I hope baby Caylee haunts you in your sleep.” Deputies said Shirley Mason is in fear for her and her family’s safety because her address has been made public.
